Manhood – October 2011

3D at CBC was started, is being sustained and is being used by God.  He is equipping the men at CBC and we need to realize that each meeting that we have is a chance to Experience God.  There were 3 testimonies given that demonstrated how the 3D ministry was affecting each man’s life in a positive way and bringing them to a closer walk with God.  This is a unique experience and is extremely uncommon.  After the short time to stop and Give Glory to God, Loren started with this clip

When were you a man?

Loren led the discussion about men and how we are under attack in the Media and by Satan.  Simply watch in the media (commercials and sit-coms) and see how men are portrayed and there is no mistake that it is not a positive light.  Satan is keenly aware of God’s preferred structure of the man being the spiritual leader and is fighting against that since the Garden.  He wants to take men down from their God Given position and he accomplishes that in a myriad of subtle manuevers.  He/Satan has men working too many hours, playing too long at their recreation, fearful they are not smart enough, having women fill their roles and the list goes on.  We are under attack and you need to know you are under attack and FIGHT BACK!

A Rich Man

The clip above from Courageous pretty much says it all.  IF:  You had a strong faith.  You had children that loved you.  You had a wife that adores you.  Would you consider yourself successfult?  Today we monitor our success by our cars, boats, 401Ks, houses and all other worldly measurements.  However, they do not fulfill us as men.  Searching for and developing a relationship with Christ which will overflow to your family life can lead us into a fulfilling life.

Do you think you would consider your life fulfilled?
Pastor Donnie closed up the evening with his discussion of the issue about finishing well.  Using the story of the olympian who finished even though it was obvious that he was not going to medal, his response was “My country sent me over here to finish the race”.  No matter how we started or have currently got ourselves positioned we can still FINISH STRONG!!!  Pastor Donnie had us repeat 1 Corinthians 16:13 as a group “Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, ACT LIKE MEN, be strong.”  Sound biblical advice.
