90 Day Challenge Overview

Over the year we will have back to back 90 Day challenges that will challenge the whole church together in the areas of:

Daily Challenge
Tell Your Story
Bible Memorization
Attendance Challenge
Giving Challenge
Prayer Challenge
Study Challenge
Serving Challenge

Each 90 Days the challenges will change. We want to know how our church family is doing with the challenges. Register your intent to commit to the challenges by clicking here. You will find the current 90 challenge by clicking the icon to the left and you will be able to comment and view comments of other church family members on that webpage. By the time we’re finished, we will have prayed for the entire world, read through the entire gospels, learned twelve Scripture verses, committed wholeheartedly to the local church, sacrificed our God given money for specific purposes, invested our God given time in another cultural context, served another generation, radically believed the gospel, shared our gospel stories, sought God daily, and cultivated a biblical worldview…and all this, together loving God , loving people, living His mission, and learning His word.

Our hope is the 90 day challenge will not become a bunch of legalistic performance based burdens on God’s people, but rather a corporate response from God’s people toward God and His gospel for His glory.

Daily Challenge

The daily challenge will help us cultivate spending time with God through prayer and Bible reading. This challenge is designed to shape and inform our Christian world view, plus develop a daily time set apart with God. The daily challenge contains both local and global scope and potential impact. We will be challenged to pray for the entire world, read through the entire gospels, partner with the persecuted church, cry out for our country, and bless our schools.

Tell Your Story Challenge

This challenge will call you to share your gospel/salvation story. Our hope is that by year end, each of us has shared with at least four people. We’ve also selected four high impact days where you can invite someone to attend a gathering whereby they will hear the good news story of Jesus Christ.

You will be encouraged to “Tell Your Story” by going to www.tellyourstory.today This site has the stories of other people that can bring you encouragement and you can share your story as others have on this site.

Bible Memorization

This challenge will equip you to renew your mind, dwell on good things, and learn to overcome temptation the way Jesus Christ did. Each month of the 90 Day Challenge, you will be given a verse to memorize that can be found on our website as well as on your Body Life Card distributed each month at CBC. Each of the twelve verses will be a “one another” Bible verse. Therefore, you can memorize the verse and then live it out in your household and in the context of God’s family.

Giving Challenge

This challenge will help you invest in eternity and in the greatest opportunity on planet earth: The Kingdom of God. It will allow you to impact lives locally and globally. You will be challenged during the 90 Days to give to vital ministries both inside and outside CBC’s walls, including: CBC approved budget, The Cooperative Program, our “Over and Out” offering (OVER regular giving and OUT of debt), M:25, and the SBC Special Offerings (Annie Armstrong and Lottie Moon). Work to set a cap on your lifestyle so that you can free up as much of your resources as possible for the sake of the glory of Christ in His church, among the lost, and among the poor, the orphan, and the widow.

Attendance Challenge

This challenge will call you to prioritize your commitment to the worship of God and the fellowship with God’s people by attending worship gatherings and Sunday School. Commit yourself wholeheartedly to the local church. Commit yourself to a Sunday School class to help connect with Jesus, His truth, His mission, and His family. Jesus discipled and cared for twelve people by gathering them together and living life together. Sunday School is modeling this discipleship and care in our context. The current trend across America is that people attend worship gatherings less and less. Let’s stop this trend and set a new trend; a biblical trend of making it the habit of assembling together and even more as the Lord’s return draws near.

Prayer Challenge

This will challenge you to pray for certain things and challenge you in different ways to pray. It is also designed for you to pray for revival, our nation, our neighbors, and unreached people groups. The challenge has local and global dimensions. Maybe only eternity will reveal the answer and rewards of this type of praying.

Study Challenge

This challenge seeks to equip you to live a biblical lifestyle and provides various environments for learning such as on your own, with your household, and gathered with the church family. A goal will be to encounter Christ through the Scriptures that are learned and lived out.

Serving Challenge

This challenge promotes serving another generation than your own, serving in another cultural context, showing hospitality care, and multiplying serving gifts among the church family. This will challenge you to serve in some way. Ideas for serving are: Mission trips, VBS, Sunday School Ministry, Weekday Preschool, Homebound/hospital visitation, CBC Musicals, Upward, D Now, Widows, Refuge Louisville, Hispanic Church, Mission Crestwood, Prison Ministry, and more. Further ways to show hospitality care are: caring for a neighbor, taking a meal to those in a time of tension or transition, care for Foster children, widow care, orphan care, minister to veterans, and more…
