We moved to our new home on Sweet Bay Drive in January 2004. Over 130 years old, our church has a history of reaching needs in our community while taking the message of Jesus Christ around the world. This facility was built with “folks we hadn’t met yet” in mind. So, here’s your invitation to join us in the future, and help us take “his story” to our neighbors and to the nations.
1873 - Crestwood Baptist Church was founded on August 9 along the train route from Louisville to Cincinnati making Crestwood a great place to settle. Thanks to award winning schools, beautiful homesites, and friendly people, the area continues to grow.
1910 – Three acres of property were purchased on the corner of Floydsburg and LaGrange roads and the church moved for the first time. The property served the church well for almost one hundred years before her most recent move. The property is now home to the Oldham County Arts Center.
1927 – The first educational building was built. CBC continues to be a church where God’s Word is taught to all ages throughout the week.
1983 – The church moved to a new Worship Center.
1994 – With a desire to meet the needs of a rapidly expanding community, the Christian Life Center was built.
2001 – With the retirement of all debt on current facilities, the church purchased 30 acres on the 329 bypass.
2004 – CBC moved into a spacious 100,000 square foot facility designed with flexibility to provide room for all ministries to grow. God continues to bless the church with new people and opportunities.
