Martin Luther King, Jr. said “If you’ve not found something worth dying for, then you’re not fit to live.” How about you? Do you have a God- given passion for His purposes? Is there something God has made you aware of that’s worth not only dying for, but worth living for?
Once you’re convinced God has ordained you for such a purpose, you can endure whatever it takes to see that purpose come to pass. The Apostle Paul writes about such an enduring purpose. “And now, behold, bound in spirit, I am on my way to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there, except that the Holy Spirit solemnly testifies to me in every city, saying that bonds and affliction await me. But I do not consider my life of any account as dear to myself, so that I may finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify solemnly of the gospel of the grace of God.” Acts 20: 22-24. Paul was saying the gospel is worth everything, including afflictions and his very life. Wow, what a passion! Someone has rightly said, “One person with passion can do more than a thousand with an interest.”
Do you live with a passion or only an interest in the gospel? Ask yourself, despite your present circumstances, is the gospel worth it? How might the answer to that question change the mundane in how you’re living? How might the worthiness of God and His gospel turn every day into an adventure?
