CBC Deacons - At Your Service!
The CBC Deacons employ the "Gift-based Deacon Ministry" model so as to function as servant leaders at Crestwood Baptist Church and in the Crestwood community. The following are our CBC Deacon servant ministry teams:
HOSPITAL VISITATION TEAM
1) Visit all members and regular attenders who are in the area hospitals.
2) Confer with Follow-Up Deacon Team members as needed.
CRISIS INTERVENTION TEAM
1) Minister to all members who experience the death of a loved one, a tragic accident, a fire, a loss of job, a divorce, etc., and refer as needed to staff and/or CBC Counseling Center.
2) Confer with the CBC Deacon Follow-Up Team as needed.
FOLLOW-UP TEAM
1) Follow-up ministry to those served by the Hospital Visitation Team
2) Follow-up ministry to those served by the Crisis Intervention Team
HOMEBOUND/NURSING HOMES TEAM
1) Visit and minister weekly to all the widows/widowers and homebound in our church family.
2) Keep records current of all who are part of this group from our church family.
3) Provide for special needs as they arise, such as home repair, etc.
4) Provide the Lord's Supper and other pastoral care as needed.
EVANGELISM TEAM
Consistent with CBC's mission statement, and in the effort to both reach out to new people in our community and ensure that existing CBC members are getting plugged in to discipleship and ministry opportunities, this team was created. The Evangelism Team conducts outreach and "in-reach" along side CBC staff and other ministries to assist in a reaching out to these two groups where appropriate.
