Proposed Article Changes

The CBC Articles of Guidance serve as our “Constitution and By Laws” providing direction on how we operate as a church. From time to time, the articles have things added or changed, with the last revision taking place in 2004. Several questions about the Articles arose last fall. Those concerns became the scope by which changes were made that will be voted on by the church at our Annual Meeting on August 17th. Our deacon body, which asked that changes in the Articles be considered, met on May 7th and unanimously approved the changes. A blackline version of the document, which shows all of the changes, is available for you to view on our website and copies are available at the Welcome Center. In addition, you can drop by and ask questions about the Articles on May 18th from 11:00 – 12:30 in room 1215. I want to thank Deacon Chair Bernie Koontz, Administrative Council Chair Randy Fields, Chris Platt, Randy Gibson, and Charlie Hagan who have worked extremely hard in getting this document ready for you to view. As you read the Articles, you may have ideas for future changes. I would encourage you to send those to me in writing so that we can include them in future discussions concerning revision.
