Deacons

The Deacons of Crestwood Baptist Church employ the “Gift-based Deacon Ministry” model so as to function as servant leaders at our church and in the Crestwood community.  The following are their servant ministry teams.

Deacon Ministry  – Do you know who our deacons are and what they do?  There are opportunities available for you to assist one of our ministry teams. Contact Chris Platt  if you would like to serve or need spiritual help, a hospital visit, or a homebound visit.

HOSPITAL VISITATION TEAM

1. Visit all members and regular attenders who are in the area hospitals.

2. Confer with Follow-Up Team as needed.

 

CRISIS INTERVENTION TEAM

1. Minister to all members who experience the death of a loved one, a tragic accident, a fire, a loss of job, a divorce, etc. and refer as needed to staff and/or an area counseling center.

2. Confer with Follow-Up Team as needed.

 

FOLLOW-UP TEAM

1. Follow-up ministry to those served by the Hospital Visitation Team.

2. Follow-up ministry to those served by the Crisis Intervention Team.

 

HOMEBOUND/NURSING HOMES TEAM

1.  Visit and minister weekly to all the homebound and nursing home residents in our church family.

2. Provide for special needs as they may arise, such as home repair.

3. Provide the Lord’s Supper and other pastoral care as needed.

 

EVANGELISM TEAM

1. Inreach – check on those who have recently been inactive

2. Outreach – follow-up on decisions made at Vacation Bible School or Upward Basketball; share the gospel with guests at The Closet.

PRACTICAL HELP TEAM

1. Provide assistance for those for in crisis – mow lawn, home repair, car repair, etc.

2. Provide assistance for homebound, elderly, recently hospitalized – see #1 for possibilities.

WIDOWS  TEAM

1.  Visit and minister weekly to all the widows and widowers in our church family.

2. Provide for special needs as they may arise, such as home repair.

3. Provide the Lord’s Supper and other pastoral care as needed.

MINISTERIAL TEAM

1. Adopt a minister.

2. Support, pray for and encourage your adopted minister.
