The Story

We have a special opportunity to read and experience the Bible together with The Story. Pastor Donnie will be preaching from the reading of the week and each Sunday morning Bible study class, preschool through adult, will be learning from the same passage.

The book called The Story is a best-selling abridged chronological Bible. There are no verse references in the text, and the segments of scripture are woven together with transition to connect the storyline so it reads like a seamless story.

Our church will be reading through The Story beginning January 1, 2012. Pastor Donnie will be preaching and classes will be taught on chapter one on Sunday, January 8. Please read chapter one “Creation: The Beginning of Life as We Know It” before kick-off Sunday, January 8th! Our journey through The Story will conclude on Sunday, August 12.

We are also adding an additional worship service for the Story on Saturday evenings at 5:04 pm (starts January 7th).  This is a great alternative for those who work or serve on Sundays and a less formal environment to invite your un-churched friends and neighbors!

There is a small group component that will further enhance your study of The Story. All of our Sunday morning classes will be studying Chapter One on January 8th. You are invited to join one of our classes on Sunday mornings. You can find information about the classes by clicking here. In addition, we will be starting new classes for The Story at 9:15 and 10:45. We will also have options for small groups on Sunday night, and Wednesday night.

One copy of The Story will be provided to each CBC family. If you would like to help us offset the cost of these books, there is a suggested donation of $10 per book. If you would like additional copies, they will be available at a cost of $10 per book; however additional books will not be distributed until December to ensure that each family has a chance to obtain their “one per family” copy first.
