Wednesday 5/16

House of Prayer – Join us each Wednesday night from 5:45-7:45 in the sanctuary to pray for our church, for each other, and for the kingdom.  Different prayer stations and helps will be available for you during this self-guided time.  Stay as little or as long as the Lord leads you.

 

Thinking Like A Christian

Wednesdays, 6:00-7:15           May 16 – Aug 8           Room #1223           $12

This is a 12-week interactive study that takes a journey into the world of ideas that are shaping our culture while teaching them biblical responses. This one-of-a-kind study lays the groundwork in the 10 disciplines: Theology, Philosophy, Biology, Psychology, Ethics, Sociology, Law, Politics, Economics, and History. This class is led by Dave Meredith.

Men’s Saturday Morning Study: “Leviticus” – Bible study and breakfast from 7:00-8:30 am in room 1223.

Young at Heart – at noon.  Enjoy lunch, fellowship, and a guest speaker.  Meal is potluck, so please bring a dish to share.

Special Needs Ministry

A team has been formed to provide a ministry to individuals with special needs, and their families. The Ministry continues to need  volunteers for a once per month rotation for both the 1st and 2nd services on Sunday mornings.  Please contact Maryann Meacham (758-8690) or Melissa Riggs (502-225-9406) for more information. The next meeting of the Special Needs Ministry Team will be June 10 at 4:30 p.m. in Room 1211 at the church.

 

Pastor Prayer Partners

Pastor Donnie is looking to build a team of people willing to pray for him and the church daily, as well as teams of people who will pray on a rotating basis during worship services.  If you are interested in being a part of this team, contact becky@crestwoodbaptist.org.

 

Marriage Ministry

Coupletime Openings: If you would like to be involved in a small group ministry, where you can enhance your marriage relationship on a monthly basis, fellowship, pray and gain support from other couples, we invite you to be a part of a Coupletime group.  If you are interested, please contact Bill Ellis at 241-8534.  We’d love for you to get plugged in.  

 

Student Ministry

High School:  Revolution – Wednesdays in the Youth Area at 6:00pm; Worship at 7:00pm

 The Worship Team Needs YOU!

The tech team is part of the worship ministry. We always need volunteers who would be willing to learn the various positions.  No experience necessary – we will train!  Team members are needed to fill camera operator, computer operator, lighting operator, audio mixer, and web audio and video recording. We also need video directors to help record the worship DVD. Please be in prayer about assisting us in this exciting and rewarding ministry.  Contact Jack Gill at jjadbg@aol.com  if you would be willing to learn and assist us. 

 

Children’s Ministry

VBS Volunteer Training -Wednesday, May 16, 6:00-7:45pm and Sunday, May 20, 6:00-7:45pm (pick one date)

 

5th Grade Graduation-- We will have a dinner and a special program for the 5th grade graduates on Sunday, June 3, 5:00pm. RSVP to julia@crestwoodbaptist.org by May 16.

 

Sunday School Promotion (June 3)- Children will attend the next age groups/grades beginning June 3.

 

New Classes- We’re adding new preschool Sunday School classes on Sunday mornings. New teachers and helpers are needed beginning June 3.

Monthly Meetings-Our next monthly meetings for Sunday morning teachers and helpers will be on Sunday, June 3, 8:45-9:05am and 12:20-12:40pm (pick one) in room 1446. Childcare is in room 1428 during the meetings.

 

Amazing Wonders Aviation VBS 2012 (July 9-12, 9am-noon)- Go to www.crestwoodbaptist.org for child registration and volunteer sign-up. Some of the items needed: ½ gallon plastic milk jugs, clothespins, aviation themed decorations, large light blue bed sheets as well as the white ones, large foam boards, blue tulle net/fabric, light blue or teal long vinyl table cloths. Items to borrow; white rope lights and pilot caps/gears.

 

Missions Opportunities

Thanks for giving to the M25 Offering Our $17,500 offering is meeting hunger needs in Oldham County, eastern KY, and the Dominican Republic. We funded a seed project in Africa. Street children are being assisted in Brazil. Medicines were provided for the poor in Kenya. Monies were sent to support prison ministry in KY, and Crossroads Pregnancy Resource Center and Touched Twice Clinic in Oldham County.

8 Great We have identified 8 great ways you can serve Jesus through missions.  You can find these on the missions board or posted in many of our adult and youth classrooms.

 

Women on Mission – Come join us on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, 12noon-2pm. 

 

Project Graduation Volunteers are needed on day of the event – Saturday, May 26, at SOHS.

CBC Missionaries/Planters On the missions board in the atrium, you will find prayer cards and prayer requests from our missionaries/church planters serving around the world. 

 

Mission Crestwood

Hot Dog Hover: is returning at the Closet by popular demand.  Begin discussing in your bible study and small groups which week this summer (May 24th – Aug. 9th) you would like to bring the meal and serve the community.  Flyers were in the SS class folders April 15th. Multi-housing: CBC/Mission Crestwood is sponsoring the Crestwood Revival June 15th and 16th. Plan now to bring the unsaved friends you have been praying for during our 911 time each evening.

 

Pantry: The pantry is low on toiletries (shampoo, toilet paper, toothpaste, deodorant).

 

KPAP: We are aware of people who need assistance through KPAP (prescription assistance) who do not have transportation to get to CBC.  If you can help fill this need, contact Rusti@crestwoodbaptist.org.

 

Senior Adult Ministry

Fit 4 Life Fitness Classes – Lower-impact workout designed for pre-natal and post-natal moms, post-surgery patients, and Seniors of all ages! Open to men and women.  Mondays and Thursdays: 10:30am-11:15am  Cost is $1.00 per class.  Free childcare is available.

 

Young at Heart – 3rd Monday of each month at noon.  Enjoy lunch, fellowship, and guest speakers each month.  Next meeting is May 21st. Meal is potluck, so please bring a dish to share.

 

Operation: Generation – Do you need some extra help around your house or yard? You can sign-up for youth to come and help and in exchange financially support them on their youth trip with CBC. Contact David Anna at 377-8956 for details and to sign-up.

 

Recreation Ministry

Scrapbooking -  Join us for a night of scrap booking together once a month. This is open to scrap booking rookies and veterans alike!  Call Marilyn for more information: 758-4334.

 

Temple Training Fitness Classes – Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays: 9:15am-10:15am. Visit www.crestwoodbaptist.org for a calendar of classes for each day. Cost is $3.00 per class, or purchase a card of 20 classes for $30.00. Free Childcare is available. Open to men and women.  We are looking to begin evening fitness classes, but need more instructors!
