Churchwide 24 Hour Prayer Vigil
Sign up at the welcome desk or call the church to participate in this important opportunity for our church community. Saturday, March 17 th 9am thru Sunday, March 18th after second service. Sign up for a block of time with your family, Sunday School class, or individually.
Missions
Habitat for Humanity project – Email Chris Platt ( chris@crestwoodbaptist.org ) if you can be a part of the blitz build March 1-3. There are three options available for you: Thursday (8:30-12 with Chris Platt), Friday (12:30-4:00 with Steve McCarty), and Saturday (8:00-1:00). We need five (men and women) on each crew. You don’t have to be skilled. Bring a hammer, measuring tape, nail pouch, pencil, and a great attitude! We are in our second decade of building homes in the west end of Louisville.
Special Needs Ministry
The Special Needs Ministry is forming a team to help develop and guide the ministry to individuals with special needs and their families. An informational meeting for those interested will be held on Sunday, March 11 at 4:30 in Room 1211. Please call Maryann Meacham at 758-8740.
Saturday Evening Worship!
- Join us for 504 Worship on Saturday evenings at 5:04 (childcare provided for ages 4 and under) – great alternative for those who serve in other ministries on Sunday mornings or for those who work Sundays. Also, a less formal environment to invite your un-churched friends and neighbors. Messages will follow THE STORY format.
The latest on THE STORY
Please be sure and read Chapter 8 BEFORE Sunday, February 26th. The sermon and Sunday lessons will be covering what you read. We will continue this pattern each week – so come prepared!
Other ways to participate in THE STORY –
- Sunday Evening at 6:00pm-7:30pm Small Group
- Wednesday Evening at 6:15pm-7:15pm Small Group
- The Rest of the Story – Wednesday night study from 6:15-7:15pm. We will study a passage that compliments the teaching of the week from the Story emphasis. This will not be the same passage that is the focus of Sunday’s message, but will be from the same section of Scripture covered by that week’s chapter. Join in at any time.
House of Prayer
Join us in corporate prayer each Wednesday night from 6-6:15pm in the sanctuary. Pastor Donnie will be leading us in prayer for our church, for each other, and for the kingdom. This is a wonderful way to refocus your day from the concerns of the world toward Jesus as you prepare to head to your Bible study classes and other meetings. The sanctuary will be open from 5:45-7:45 for those who wish to come early or stay late and pray individually.
Pastor Prayer Partners
Pastor Donnie is looking to build a team of people willing to pray for him and the church daily, as well as teams of people who will pray on a rotating basis during worship services. If you are interested in being a part of this team, contact becky@crestwoodbaptist.org.
Women’s Ministry
Come join us on the 4th Monday night of each month for our PATH Meetings….and walk with us as we explore how to Purposefully Aim to Transform Hearts. Next Meeting – Monday night February 27th, 6:30-7:30 – Topic: God Transforms through Mentors.
Mom’s Keeping Faith – join us as we are encouraged Biblically in the high calling of Motherhood….for moms with infants to High School. We meet the 2nd Friday of every month from 9:00-11:45. Free Childcare available….but you must register at www.crestwoodbaptist.org under the events box at the bottom of the main page.
Student Ministry
Spring Break is right around the corner! This year’s trip is to JOPLIN, MISSOURI!!! 9th-12th grade, April 8-14, 2012.
Marriage Ministry
The Kentuckiana Marriage Tune Up II Conference comes to CBC on March 2 and 3. Led by Jeff and Debbie McElroy, they will encourage, challenge, and make you laugh through various delivery methods. Sign up now! Cost is $70 per couple. In addition, they encourage you to bring an unchurched couple with you at no additional charge! (Find out details during registration online.) Active military and first responders can attend the event free of charge as well. The Worship Team Needs YOU!
The tech team is part of the worship ministry. We are always needing volunteers who would be willing to learn the various positions. We are currently not able to fill many tech positions due to lack of volunteers. You are not expected to know how to fill these jobs, only be willing to learn from our experienced volunteers. Team members are needed to fill camera operator, computer operator, lighting operator, audio mixer, and web audio and video recording. Also we need video directors to help record the worship DVD. Please be in prayer about assisting us in this exciting and rewarding ministry.

Children’s Ministry
Monthly Meetings – Our meetings for Sunday morning teachers and parent helpers will be on March 4, 8:45-9:05am and 12:20-12:40pm (pick one) in room 1446. Childcare is in room 1428 during the meetings.
Children’s Ministry Volunteers Appreciation Month – - Children and parents are encouraged to show their appreciation by sending our teachers and helpers thank you notes, etc. during the month of February. We love our volunteers!
Jesus Is Alive Easter Celebration (March 31, 10:00am – 12:30pm) — The online volunteer sign up is available at www.crestwoodbaptist.org. Donations of plastic eggs and wrapped candy are appreciated. For the resurrection eggs activity we’re collecting egg cartons, purple cloth, sponges, and oyster crackers. We’re also collecting green beans, corn, ravioli, peanut butter, and oatmeal for The Pantry/Mission Crestwood during the event.

Amazing Wonders Aviation VBS 2012 (July 9-12, 9am-noon) – - Planning is underway for this exciting week. Following are some of the items we’ll need: ½ gallon plastic milk jugs, clothespins, aviation themed decorations, large light blue bed sheets as well as the white ones, large foam boards, blue tulle net/fabric. We’d also like to borrow white rope lights and pilot caps/gears.
Mission Crestwood
ALERT: Thanks for the plastic Kroger/Wal-Mart bags. Keep them coming!! This week our greatest need lies in the area of toiletries: toothpaste and shampoo.
We are also in need of Bibles (sorry, no King James versions) at the Closet. If you have any in your home collecting dust, we can see they find a good home.

- A food bag/box team is needed on Friday mornings 10:45 – noon. Do you have a couple of hours to prepare food to be handed out the following week? It’s easy and fun. All you need are hands and feet.
- We are in need of a tutor who can assist an Indian lady, who speaks English, with her ability to write English to pass a proficiency exam.
- Are willing to work with a team to pack clothing for men from KSR as they transition back into society?
Multi-housing: Children living at Maple Springs apartments need a ride to Awana on Sunday nights. If you are coming and have empty seats contact kkrake@yahoo.com.
The Closet – SAVE THESE DATES! On March 24th from 9:00am until 2:00pm the Closet will begin the annual change over from fall/winter clothing to put out the spring/summer clothing. We need as many volunteers as possible to help pack up and hang clothing. Men we need YOU! We will even furnish lunch!! This process will continue on March 26 (10-noon), March 29 (6-8pm), March 31st (10 – noon), and April 2 (10-noon) so we are ready to re-open on April 5th.
Worship and Training –You will want to put March 11th at 4:00pm on your calendar to find out what’s going on with the Closet, Pantry or Multi-housing ministries. All present volunteers and anyone who is interested in learning about the Closet, the Pantry and Multi-housing should attend. We are planning a Crestwood Tent Revival in June. Come see what area of service God may be offering up for you as we tell this community about God’s love!!!
