2gether Summer Events

Church-wide picnic – Wednesday, July 10^th in conjunction with VBS Family night.  Come enjoy a potluck dinner with your church family while meeting and fellowshipping with the many un-churched families in our community who send their children to CBC’s Vacation Bible School.  Lots of games, inflatables, and family fun for everyone!

HOPE Ministry

Volunteers are needed in the Children ministry to provide assistance to a child while the child attends a regular class. We have a great team of volunteers in place that supports only the 2^nd service, but would like supplement the group and possibly expand the assistance to the 1^st service. If interest, please contact Robert Rapson (243-1956) for more info.

 

Prayer Ministry

Prayer Hallway/House of Prayer – You are welcome to spend time in our prayer hallway any time the building is open.

Rubies for Life, our women’s prison Ministry in downtown Louisville is in Full Swing. Since starting in November, we have had 20 ladies accept Christ.  Please be in prayer for us daily as we meet with moms that struggle with hard life stuff but who have a greater God!  Contact FeleciaHolmes@hotmail.com for more information.

Mission Crestwood

Closet: SAVE THE DATE!!! A community WORSHIP SERVICE is planned for June 27th at the Closet. We will begin with baptisms of those who have accepted Christ at the Closet at 7:30pm.  Plan now to bring your friends.   We have lots of room for children’s shorts and men’s summer clothing.  We are out of space to store fall and winter items.  Please keep these items at your home until the changeover to fall and winter clothing in Oct.  Pantry: The pantry is low on toiletries (shampoo, toilet paper, tooth paste, and bar soap).

 

Senior Adult Ministry

Fit 4 Life Fitness Classes – Lower-impact workout designed for pre-natal and post-natal moms, post-surgery patients, and seniors of all ages! Open to men and women.  Mondays and Thursdays: 10:30am-11:15am.  Cost is $1.00 per class.  Free childcare is available.

 

Young at Heart – 3^rd Monday of each month at noon.  Enjoy lunch, fellowship, and guest speakers each month.

 

Trip to Boston! – We are planning a trip to Boston September 18-24^th. Cost is $515 per person and includes everything but a few meals. Sign-up with Kelly!

Missions

First Baptist Greer SC is here!  From June 22-29, 55 teenagers and adults will be staying at CBC and serving in various ways throughout our community: Mission Crestwood, Backyard Bible Clubs, basketball camp at CBC, promoting our VBS, repair affair, and working with refugees.

 

Pray for our mission  to Poland (June 29-July 16).

 

Dominican Republic Mission Trip – Sign-up now for our (OC) Fall Break trip to serve at the feeding center/church in Santa Lucia.  See Chris Platt or Jim Tutt for details.

 

West Liberty KY, July 13-19 – Our associational Baptist Builders team will be working with Habitat to build new homes or repair damaged homes from last year’s tornado.  See Chris Platt for details.

Children’s Ministry

Kingdom Rock Vacation Bible School (July 8-11, 9:00am-12:00noon) – Register your child and/or sign up to volunteer at www.crestwoodbaptist.org by July 6 at noon. VBS items needed: 16 oz. empty water bottles with caps and paper grocery bags. VBS Set-Up: July 7, 12:30-7:00pm; VBS Youth/Adult Guide Training: July 7, 5:00pm-6:00pm followed by pizza! VBS Family Night: Wednesday, July 10, 5:30pm-8:30pm (open house, music, hotdogs, face paintings, balloons, inflatables, etc.). Bring chips, cookies (no peanuts), veggie/fruit trays, soft drinks, and your family!)

 

Monthly Meetings – Our monthly meetings for the Sunday morning teachers and parent helpers are held on the first Sunday of each month, 8:45am-9:05am and 12:20pm-12:40pm (pick one) in room 1446. Childcare is provided in room 1428 during the meetings.

 

Tennis Balls Needed – We’re collecting tennis balls for the chairs in the children’s classrooms.

 

Recreation

Ironman Volunteers needed—Sun., Aug. 25^th. Serve water, Gatorade & snacks to Ironman Triathletes. See Kelly Clark.
