We are delighted to announce Dr. Hershael W. York as our Interim Pastor!

Dr. York currently serves as the Dean of the School of Theology at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he is also the Victor and Louise Lester Professor of Christian Preaching. After faithfully leading Buck Run Baptist Church in Frankfort for 20 years as Senior Pastor, he now devotes his ministry to strengthening churches and pastors in effective gospel-centered communication and leadership. He and his wife, Tanya, also travel widely hosting marriage seminars.

A respected author and preacher, Dr. York has written two books on preaching, 40 Days in 1 Corinthians, and most recently The Salvation of Children, which emphasizes the importance of guiding children toward faith in Christ. Preaching Today has recognized him as one of North America’s most effective preachers. He contributes a regular column to Preaching magazine and hosts the widely followed PastorWell Podcast. His sermons and articles have appeared across numerous journals, websites, and publications, and his preaching and teaching ministry has taken him across the U.S., Europe, Asia, and South America.

Dr. York holds a B.A. in English and Classical Civilizations and an M.A. in Classical Languages from the University of Kentucky. He later earned both the Master of Divinity and Doctor of Philosophy in Greek and New Testament from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, Tennessee.
